Bit of a Fog

Monday. Morning. After taking a few days off, Monday morning is pretty painful, then you blanket the area in a damp and chilly fog, and well, the temptation to hit snooze one more time on your alarm and hide under the covers for a few more minutes increases exponentially.  (But then if you’re me, your cat decides that you hiding under the covers is something she needs to kill, and then you end up with a cat jumping on your head, which wakes you right up…)

So, regardless of what gets you up, the nice cozy warmth of staying in bed inevitably ends and you’ve got to face the cold, damp and fog.

Ugh.

Crossing Key Bridge, even the Washington Monument was hidden from view,

and looking across toward Georgetown wasn’t much better.

But I tell ya what – when there are mornings that are like this, you just have to make your own sunshine! And I have the perfect instrument for this.

Yes. Yellow lenses. They do serve a very practical purpose where they increase the contrast on grey days, but on the lighter side, I like to think that they make the world sunny for the wearer. They made my foggy morning bright at least!

And with the sun coming back out – looking to be a nice commute home – if I can stay ahead of the dark!
