Hints of Spring

While yesterday was a bit dismal in the temperature and biking department (no breaking!!!), today is a small redemption. With a few less layers (it was HIGH 30s when I left today!) I headed out on my road bike this morning hopeful for a more spring-like day and again thankful for the sunshine. Smooth ride down the Custis Trail and through Georgetown – no mechanicals today! And, when I headed down the Rock Creek Trail just north of Georgetown, there were very early season daffodils blooming!

A nice way to start off “hump” day for sure, a good bike ride in to work, and the first signs of spring along the way! And with daylight getting longer, temperatures getting higher and gas prices on the rise as well – it may be a good time to think about commuting to work, because I’m sure when you drive, you can’t stop and smell the daffodils 🙂
