Points for the Bike

We all know gas prices are skyrocketing…ridiculously fast and ridiculously high. At the somewhat cheap(er) station by my house – $3.97/gallon for regular. Ouch. Big ouch. Especially with summer just around the corner and race season ramping up.

Well you know what costs $0.00/gallon? Going by bike 🙂 The mornings are perfect right now, the evenings are mild, you don’t need tights, full-finger gloves or even a hat under the helmet. It’s biking weather. And going by bike saves you money right now. I’ll admit, I kind of giggle when I ride by gas stations and know I’m going from point A to point B and back without having to stop and fuel up. And even if you can’t go by bike all the time, I’ll tell you, it’ll add up with the little trips. I smile every time I ride the 1.6 mile round-trip it is for me to go to the grocery store as opposed to getting in the car and driving something that’s almost quicker to bike.

Gas isn’t going to get any cheaper – so if you’re looking to save some green, and at the same time be a little greener, fit into your summer clothes and do your errands with a smile – go by bike!
